Our hearts led us to Madapam, nestled in the Srikakulam district, where the tallest Hanuman statue in India—a towering 176 feet of divine strength—rises high on the banks of the sacred Vamsadhara River.We arrived just before sunrise, the air calm and cool. And then—a vision. The golden sun slowly climbed behind the mighty Hanuman’s head, casting a radiant halo. It looked as though Hanuman himself was holding the sun in his palm, commanding even the celestial forces with serene power.In that moment, I felt small before his greatness, yet comforted—as a child seeking shelter under a parent’s shadow. We clicked photos where I looked tiny before him, almost like a speck beside a mountain. But in spirit, I felt elevated.Hanuman is not just a deity here; he’s a symbol of hope, strength, and protection for every youth. And on this special trip, as husband and wife, we bowed together, praying for strength in our love, courage in our lives, and unity in every storm we face.
The temple, though grand, had a story quietly humming through its walls. A pandit shared with us the legend of a devoted camel—a rare tale unlike the usual Shiva temples with Nandi statues. This temple had a completely different energy and background, filled with emotion and unique devotion.Time passed gently here. We sat near the flowing Vamsadhara River, its gentle ripples echoing peace. The temple’s proximity to the highway makes it easy to visit, yet nothing about it feels rushed. It’s as if Hanuman slows time for those who truly come to sit with him.We spent hours—not just in darshan, but in devotion, silence, and gratitude. This place, more than a destination, felt like a guardian of dreams. It felt like Hanuman was blessing every person in Srikakulam, whispering to them that strength lies within, and devotion unlocks it.
